I had a very nice weekend in AB. I froze every 15 seconds, died in a meteor shower (first time in 2 years), after my interupt missed because of lag.
Got, all counted, 18 error 7's, 64 error 19's. Called my ISP nothing wrong, no odd work on their side. There last problem was 1 month ago.
Seems to be only @ servers: 206.217..... etc
when im on 216.245 im fine. But i cant choose that.

Please fix it soon im going mental.

You may still be hosted at the servers near Frankfurt. I assume the servers are there otherwise you would get more efficient routes from tracert to the servers location. Untill now, I see most AB areas are staged at the same IP range, they all trace back to germany, except the international district that traces to another location.
The IP posted above should be 206.127.146/7.xxx. All of them give major lag but according tracert the responses up to frankfurt are very nice, around 50 ms or less.

Looks like it's being back to normal for me. Just started the game, and have green ping most of the times.

For those still suffering the horrendous lag, I suggest using the International districts whenever possible. My ping is always green there.

This is hardly new from anet. If you are kicked from the game for an unknown reason it gives the error 7 msg please check your internet connection. Even if vent and all other internet related programs still work the initial blame rests on your internet connection not anet. Even when on some occassions entire teams from different countries are kicked from the game but not vent the message implies go fiddle with your router settings which for some people may cause more problems.
As for the lag that has happened this weekend or still happening in at least my case. Is this an example of how the servers will function after gwen. If problems like this last days people will not buy the product. This weekend many players have been unable to play at all. More problems like this will put people off buying gwen or gw2.

I'm from The Hague in The Netherlands and play on the 206.127.146.xxx servers. The lag here is very very bad. Unplayable... This is the explanation from Gaile Gray, ArenaNet's community relations manager: Read this

Alliance Battles were bad over the weekend, and I just pinged 109,875ms in Kurzick Fort Aspenwood. I have a new all-time high now.

The game is pretty much unplayable for me right now. The ping times of 1000ms and higher are bad enough, but it's the lag spikes that are killing me.
Clicking skills and nothing happens. The game catches up with you 10 seconds later and you are dead.
Time for me to go read a book or something.

Its not scientific, I know, but Speedtest.net ( http://www.speedtest.net/ ) has a Frankfurt test server....
Download 1.05Mb/s
Upload 0.37Mb/s
Ping 62 ms
Then tried Nuremberg
Download 0.91 Mb/s
Upload 0.28 Mb/s
Ping 68 ms
and Amsterdam
Download 1.09 Mb/s
Upload 0.37 Mb/s
Ping 102 ms
as they would appear to be before and after on the backbone rings......
Go figure

Addendum -- 1 July 9:30 PM Pacific (-7 GMT): The Network Team has just sent word that the issue is broader than once believed, and they're focusing on a previously-scheduled maintenance in the system that manages the hand-off between the core Internet switch and ArenaNet's infrastructure that connects Guild Wars hardware. This maintenance had already been scheduled for tomorrow night, but it's now hoped that beyond the original objectives of the maintenance, it will also assist in clearing up the current latency problem. I will post as/when we have more information.
|
this little addon to te message suggests that the problem is within the server park structure where ANet host or is hosted.

It is? I've bought the game with all the expansions last Tuesday and I haven't been able to play 10 mins without being 'rubber banded' all over the place.
Made a ticket with the support team and they are looking into it.
My machine should be able to run the game smoothly, it seems to be a connection problem or a server problem. (connection varies from green/orange/red)
Shame, it seemed a promising game ...

Really what this is about is crappy routing, whether or not you go through the frankfurt hub. I don't go through that hub and I see no reason why ppl from england or holland would. I'm swedish so I "might" go through it. Anyway it's like last time this SH*T happened. Bad routing. Talking to plaync support about it last time they showed me I had almost 100% packet loss during the spikes which is true since I got screenshots of all 8 of my skills pinging as if they are going off while I'm frozen.
So, bad routing. Last time I had to change my ISP to get rid of it. This time it's up to anet or I'm not buying eotn or gw2.

I rather not post my cmd picture of my tracer but it goes like this. My isp >new york > washington > new york > washington > atlanta > dallas > los angeles > los angeles > los angeles on 216.107.245.42
Sorry about double post. Remove top one if needed.
